Coaching & Workshop General Information

What to Bring

WATERPROOF or WATER RESISTANT SHOES

Panboola is on the floodplain and can be soggy - I recommend gumboots or a water resistant boot - but ONLY if they are comfortable to walk in!  They don't need to be fully waterproof, but it's likely we'll encounter some mud and shallow puddles. It is possible to avoid wet sections but that may mean you miss out on getting closer to certain birds.

LIGHT RAINCOAT

Throw one in the car if looks like light showers and you have one.

Note I will reschedule or offer a full refund for bad weather.

DO YOU USE A TRIPOD OR MONOPOD?

Please bring one if you like to use one - I don't use one and shoot handheld - but please use whatever you are most comfortable with!  There's no right or wrong way.

SPARE CAMERA BATTERY & CHARGER

There is power available and a safe place to to leave accessories in our meeting room while we are in the field.

REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE

I have lovely filtered rainwater so we can avoid using plastic bottles, but please bring your own water bottle if you would like to carry water.  Otherwise I have cups available for our breaks.

SUNSCREEN & HAT

I do have sunscreen available but you may prefer your own brand.

LAPTOP OR TABLET

(for all-day or multi-day experiences)

If you have the ability to download your photos for review while travelling, please bring your devices so we can have a look at some editing, especially if the weather is a little shaky.  We will be indoors and power is available.  There is reasonably good mobile reception throughout Panboola.

Panboola Meeting Point

We meet in the carpark at Panboola's second entrance where the Panboola office is located. (Not at the main entrance, which gets busy and has limited parking).  Access is from the Princes Highway just behind the Idlewilde Motel at the bottom of Pambula's main street.  Look for the Panboola sign.
